A hand-guided electrically driven circular saw has a casing with two handles 1, 14 one at each end of the casing and is driven by an electric motor 3 through reduction gear 6-10. An abutment 15 displaced off a diameter of the saw holds the saw in engagement with the work. The abutment is shaped at the end like a stirrup and surrounds the saw blade and is preferably adjustable. Two coaxial saws may be fitted. A switch 2 controls the motor.
