Abstract

686,885. Lamp-holders. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. April 5, 1951 [April 13, 1950], No. 7951/51. Class 38 (i). A lamp-holder comprises a tubular metal casing 4 having inwardly and outwardly directed flanges 11, 15 respectively at opposite ends and containing a resilient insert 6 in sealing engagement therewith. The insert comprises a tubular portion 22 for embracing a lamp cap and a base portion 23 abutting the flange 11, said base portion having a projecting boss 32 for supporting a contact 27 and urging it into engagement with the lamp cap. The base portion 23 also forms a seal round the lead 14 to the contact. Flange 15 is turned over a ring 16 carrying spring fingers 17 adapted for snapfastener engagement with an apertured support.
