Abstract
686,323. Radio receiving apparatus. DUMONT LABORATORIES, Inc., A. B. March 21, 1950 [April 23, 1949], No. 7038/50. Class 40 (v). [Also in Group XL (b)] In a television receiver having a tuning element A, B, or C, in each stage, which consists of two coupled short-circuited lines 21a 25a, 21b, 25b, or 21c, 25c, the elements are operated together by a ganged switch arrangement 45. The latter comprises sliding contact members 44, 51, 91, 60, 56, 74 and 68. In the position shown in Fig. 11 the bottom movable members connect the two lines of a unit in parallel with their connection to their particular valve stage. The upper contact members connect each tuning element with its successive element. On shifting switch assembly 45 one step the position of Fig. 12 is produced, which results in the two lines of a unit being connected in series and the fixed inductances 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, and 107 being brought into circuit. In the third switch position, as shown in Fig. 13, one line in each unit is short-circuited and put out of action. The circuit shown consists of a highfrequency amplifier valve 43, a mixer valve 54, and a local oscillator 65.
