Abstract
686,217. Drafting mechanism; cleaning apparatus. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd. April 13, 1951, No. 8654/51. Class 120 (ii) A drafting mechanism of the kind including consecutive pairs of superposed rollers and a weighted underclearer positioned against under peripheral portions of at least two bottom rollers, comprises a length of cord or the like having at least one end secured to the under clearer and extending up and between said two bottom rollers over the top of one of the latter and having its other end so anchored as to provide a dependent loop within which a weight of diabolo or pulley like form is suspended. As shown the under clearer 3 is held up against peripheral portions of bottom rollers 1a and 2a of a drafting system by a length of cord 4 the two ends of which are threaded through apertures in the underclearer 3 and knotted as at 4a. The loop thus formed is passed up and over the neck portion 1b of roller 1a and a diabolo or pulley-like weight 6 is suspended in the cord loop. In a second embodiment one end only of the cord is fixed to the underclearer, the other end being attached to a fixed part of the machine structure.
