Class 139 In an escapement the escape wheel is formed by two toothed wheels the teeth of which are in staggered relationship to cooperate successively with a pallet which oscillates across the two sets of teeth and is impulsed thereby, the said pallet being` mounted at one end of a pivoted lever, the other end of which imparts impulses to the balance. The escape wheel is formed by two integral wheels 10, 11, the teeth of which are in staggered relationship, Fig. 2 (not shown). A pallet 21, 23, 22, Fig. 3, oscillates across the teeth of the wheels and is shaped as shown in Fig. 5 to have impulse faces 21, 22 and a locking face 23. The pallet is mounted on one end of a pivoted lever, the other end of which is forked to co-operate in the usual manner with the impulse pin of the balance (not shown).
