Abstract

574,229. Escapements. GUMMERSALL, T. A. Nov. 13, 1943, No. 18914. [Class 139] A balance lever 5 which is forked at one end to reeeive the impulse pin 7 of a balance wheel 8 and which has a counter-balance 9 at its other end, oscillates on an arbor 6. A pallet member 10 which oscillates in unison with the lever 5 on the arbor 6 has pallet arms 11 and 11a to which are secured thin pallet springs 12 and 12a carrying pallet pins 14 and 14a adapted to engage the teeth 2 of an escape wheel 1. The teeth 2 of the escape wheel 1 each have a locking face 3 and an impulse face 4. " A Y- shaped spring 15 which acts as a resilient buffer to the impulse pin 7 is secured to a, block 18 on the lever 5 so that the base of the spring fork 15 lies at the base of the forked recess 16 in the end of the balance lever 5.
