Abstract

352,876. Escapement mechanism for clocks and speedometers. HASLER AKT.-GES. VORM. TELEGRAPHENWERKSTATTE VON G. HASLER, 50, Schwarztorstrasse, Berne, Switzerland. Nov. 28, 1930, No. 35880. Convention date, Jan. 10. [Class 139.] In a time-keeping escapement the striking surfaces of the scape wheel are made resilient to reduce noise. The three teeth 2 of the scape wheel 1 coact with pallets 5, 6 of a lever 4 coupled to the balance wheel 3. The wheel has radial slots 9 leading to pins 8 which are set in an annular recess 7. Mounted on each pin and in a slot 9 is a U -shaped spring 10, held in position by a disc 11, one limb of this spring bearing against the face of tooth 2 and the other limb forming a resilient face for coaction with the pallets. Instead of the springs 10 shown, blade springs or spring-controlled arms may be used.
