Abstract
510,739. Clocks and watches. WACHTEL, P. G. March 24, 1938, No. 9015. Convention date, Jan. 17. [Class 139] The hour numerals 1-12 are marked on an intermittently rotated hour disc 3 and appear successively in a window 2 of a fixed dial 1 on which the minute hand 4 rotates continuously, and additional designations such as " a.m. and " p.m. " are provided to identify the twelvehour period. The hour disc 3 has eleven spokes 5 and a larger spoke 25. Once an hour cam 8 on the minute-hand arbor 6 allows pin 9 and bellcrank 11, 12 to rise under the action of spring 24 so that lever 13, pivoted at 16 to arm 12, is rocked and its pallets 14, 15 allow disc 3 to escape one step clockwise, Fig. 3, under the drive of a spring (not shown). At the end of twelve hours the long spoke 25 meets one of the arms 26 on a disc 27 marked " a.m. " and " p.m." so that the designation is changed at a window 2a. 29 is a centre-seconds hand.
