Abstract

555,397. Clocks. MEFINA SOC. ANON. July 16, 1942, No. 9898. Convention date, July 26, 1941. [Class 139] A clockwork escapement, more particularly for use in a time-fuze for a projectile, comprises two interengaging toothed wheels 10, 11 mounted on spindles arranged parallel to the arbor of the balance wheel 13, and a cylindrical member 12 on the arbor formed with a recess for alternate co-operation with the teeth of the two wheels to impart impulses to the arbor during the oscillations of the balance wheel under control of the hair spring 14. At least one of the wheels is driven by a spring, or weight or othe source of power each wheel being checked in turn by the surface of the cylindrical member.
