480,797. Clock escapements. NOVIKOFF, A. Sept. 8, 1936, No. 24431. [Class 139] In a pendulum-controlled escapement a frame 1 is pivoted at an intermediate point (about the escapement arbor 2) and at one end 5 carries an anchor pin 6 about which rotate the anchor 7 and pendulum 8 rigid with one another, whilst at the other end of the frame is a weight 4. At rest the pin 6, arbor 2 and centre of bob 9 are in a single vertical plane and will be maintained so by the weight 4 even if the clock is tilted. In a modification, the anchor pin is mounted on or near the periphery of a disc which is either eccentrically pivoted on arbor 2 or has one or more -weights in the same vertical plane as the anchor pin.
