Class 110(iii) A gas turbine power plant comprises a compressor supplying a gas producer and a combustion chamber, means, utilising the exhaust gases of the plant to preheat the air fed to the combustion chamber, means, such as a precipitator, for removing solids from the producer gases fed to the combustion chamber, at least two turbines arranged in series, a heat exchanger disposed between the combustion chamber and the first turbine to reheat the exhaust gases passing to the second turbine and a conduit to feed a part of the producer gas or the exhaust gases of a turbine or turbines to a steam boiler. The compressor may be a multistage compressor with interstage cooling effected by water or an air current. The fuel used in the steam generator may be solid fuels such as coal or coke in lump or powdered form, liquid, gaseous or liquefied gases such as liquefied propane, butane, methane or mixtures thereof. The air used in the producer is preheated by the exhaust gases of the plant and then saturated to obtain the steam required in the producer. The steam may be generated in a jacket of the producer. The gas producer may be replaced by a gas generator or vaporiser. Specification 575,895 is referred to.
