Abstract
<PICT:0685365/III/1> <PICT:0685365/III/2> <PICT:0685365/III/3> In a apparatus for dispersing finely catalytic material into a stream of fluid material, a distributer element 8 may take the form, Fig. 2, of a part section of a cylinder which is secured to the upper part of a conduit 6 so as to be tangental to the material inlet 2 and is provided at 8a with a flat extension in the direction of the compressed air stream introduced at 7. It may also take the form of a quarter-section of a sphere which is secured at its upper edge to the upper part of conduit and is tangental to the material in the inlet 2 and is provided at 8a with a reinforcement. It may also take the form, Fig. 4, of a plug 9 which is inserted into the conduit 16, the plug being pierced by holes 10 through which compressed air is fed from the left, the material being fed at 12. Finely divided catalyst contained in a hopper 11, Fig. 1, is fed down a stand-pipe 12 into a conduit 16 whence it is conveyed by air current introduced through a plug 9 along a pipe 15 to an oil-breaking unit 1. The spent catalyst is discharged at 2 and introduced into the conduit 6 by means of distributer element 8 whence it is blown by compressed air introduced along a pipe 7 into a pipe 5 back into the supply hopper 11.
