Abstract

<PICT:0649451/IV (c)/1> An apparatus for treating a mass of loose fibres with a stream of processing liquid comprises a vat 10, a conduit 14 through which the fibres are supplied by means of a blower 16 to a vertical loading pipe 18 which has a series of baffles 20 retarding the flow of fibres. Pipe 22 discharges liquid reagent into the head of the load pipe. By this arrangement the fibres are agitated and thoroughly wetted.
