Abstract

683,731. Surgical optical instruments. CARSBERG & SON, (LONDON), Ltd., H. G. May 25, 1951 [Nov. 27, 1950], No. 29015/50. Class 81 (ii). The blade 16 of a laryngoscope is made readily detachable from the body 10 by means of a quick screw 19 fitting into a threaded recess in the body and carrying a contact screw 21 for the electrical connection from the battery 13 to the lamp 17. Below the screw thread the threaded boss 19 has a tapered projection 20 which engages in the hole in the top cap 15 of the body in order to provide sufficient friction to retain the blade and body in their assembled positions.
