683,618. Bobbins. ARON ELECTRICITY METER, Ltd., and RIORDAN, E. J. June 13, 1950 [June 13, 1949], No. 15722/49. Class 120(iii) [Also in Group XXXV] A bobbin of the kind comprising a core or sleeve around which a coil is wound to form an electromagnet and cheek plates or end flanges are secured to the core on either side of the winding comprises a central core or sleeve 1 of insulating material having an abutment in the form of a continuous ridge 2 at or near an end thereof, and a cheek plate 3 formed of a material having resilient deformability and with a central aperture 4 of dimensions less than the external dimensions of the abutment to permit the said cheek plate to be forced over the abutment and subsequently retained thereby by reason of the positive interengagement of the parts. The abutment may be constituted by a wall of a groove in the external surface of the sleeve and the surface of the abutment directed axially outwards with respect of the coil windings may be chamfered as indicated at 2a. The cheek plate may be finally secured in position by cementing it to the central core.
