682,632. Balancing engines. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT.-GES. Aug. 1, 1950 [Aug. 6. 1949], No. 19218/50. Class 122(iii) [Also in Group XXVII] In an air cooled fuel injection two-stroke internalcombustion engine having a cooling air blower 26 and a piston scavenging pump with an inlet controlled by a rotary valve 12, driven from the crankshaft through spur wheels 13, 14 of equal size, a balancing mass 31 for the valve 12 is provided driven with and having the same axis of rotation as the valve 12, and the blower 26 and fuel injection pump 20 are arranged so that either the blower is driven from the shaft of the valve 12 through a spur wheel 27 and the injection pump driven from the crankshaft or the blower is driven through spur gearing from the crankshaft and the injection pump driven directly from the valve shaft. The blower draws air through a filter 28 and forces it over the cylinders through a casing 29. Balancing masses 30 for the crankshaft are provided on the crank throws.
