Abstract

681,891. Valves. CONNECTICUT CHEMICAL RESEARCH CORPORATION. May 15, 1951 [May 13, 1950], No. 11317/51. Class 135. A discharge valve for a pressure fluid container 10 comprises a body 14 overlaying an opening 13 in the container end wall 11, and having a part 15 and an integral flange 33 extending through the opening into the container, the flange being bent over to secure the body to the container. A washer 32 prevents leakage through opening 13. A closure member 18 is urged by a spring 21 to engage a seat 17 in a bore 16 in the body and is unseated by depressing a diaphragm 28 which engages the member through a rod 24, slidable with clearance in a bore 16a. A chamber 25 beneath the diaphragm has an outlet nozzle 27 in its wall and forms an expansion chamber for atomising the fluid from the container. A flange 29 integral with the body is bent over to secure and seal the diaphragm thereto.
