Abstract
681,713. Stove casings. MITCHELL, RUSSELL & CO., Ltd., and PRESTON, T. B. Jan. 22, 1951 [Sept. 19, 1949], No. 24018/49. Class 126 A casing for a heating stove comprises a front with rearwardly directed side flanges mounted on the stove proper and side panels which can be secured by cooperation between the flanges of the front and upper and lower abutment means, one or both of which are adjustable, the adjustable abutments being mounted on the stove proper and the fixed abutments being mounted on the stove or the front. Raised portions 5 are cast on wings extending from the base 6 of stove 7 to the rear and inwardly of side flanges 8a provided on the fixed front 8 of the stove and present concave faces 5a towards the rear inner edges of the flanges 8a. Plates 9 adjustably mounted on the top of stove 7 by bolts 12 passing through a slot 11 in each plate, have wings presenting concave faces towards the flanges 8a. Each side panel 17 is provided with inwardly directed projections 18 at the top and bottom front edges, which present convex faces towards the adjacent side walls of the stove. The side panels 17 are eased downwardly from the top of the stove so that the lower projections 18 are engaged between the raised parts 5 and the side flanges 8a and plates 9 are then adjusted to engage the upper projections 18 and hold them against the side flanges 8a. The top panel 20, provided with a forwardly extending tongue 21 which engages a flange 22 on the upper part of the front 8, is arranged so that its downwardly extending flanges 23 overlap extensions provided on the side panels 17.
