Abstract

In a froth flotation process there is added as frothing agent a I.I.N.-trialkoxy paraffin. The agent may be prepared by reacting an unsaturated aldehyde e.g. acrolein or cinnamic aldehyde, and an alcohol having 1-3 carbon atoms, e.g. methyl, ethyl, propyl or isopropyl alcohols. The amount required of these frothers is stated to be up to 40 per cent less than the amount of pine oil required. Specification 641,932 is referred to.
