Abstract

Rubber is plasticized by incorporating therein aqueous emulsions of fatty alcohols of high molecular weight preferably containing more than 10 carbon atoms, e.g. stearic and oleyl alcohols. It is stated that the use of these aqueous emulsions facilitates the addition of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic materials and enables the amount of accelerator used to be reduced by 20-30 per cent.
