Class 110(iii) In a gas turbine plant, air from the working cycle of the plant is used to transmit the impulses from a speed governor driven by the turbine to a valve controlling the fuel supply. In the plant shown air compressed in a compressor 1 is heated in a heat exchanger 2 by the exhaust gases from the turbine 4 and then fed to a combustion chamber 3 supplying the turbine 4. The fuel supply to the combustion chamber 3 is controlled by altering the pressure above the level of the fuel in the chamber 8. For this purpose, the chamber 8 is connected at point 14 to a conduit 15 through which control air is taken from the working fluid circuit at point 12 and returned at point 13. The point 14 lies between a fixed orifice 10 and a valve 7 operated direct by a speed governor 6. The control air may be discharged to atmosphere instead of being returned to the circuit. A plurality of control air streams branched off from the circuit at various points and returned to the circuit at a point of lower pressure may be employed.
