Abstract

A cleaning product to be used without additional water consists of a dispersion of polyvinyl acetate in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol, or of a dispersion in water of partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate, the dispersion being dissolved or swelled in an organic solvent of the group consisting of methyl acetophenone, anisic aldehyde, benzaldehyde, linalyl acetate, eugenol, and benzyl acetate. When using polyvinyl acetate the polymer may be dissolved in one of the organic solvents, and the solution dispersed in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. The dispersion of partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate may be obtained by hydrolysing the dispersion of polyvinyl acetate obtained from the polymerization of vinyl acetate in aqueous dispersion, and then admixing the product with one of the solvents at elevated temperature. Other ingredients of the compositions specified are olein, stearic acid, and triethanolamine.
