[Also in Group XXXIV] A cranked lever a pivoted at a<1> to an invalid chair frame b has an end a<4> bent outwardly, and an end a<3> bent inwardly. A hand lever d when moved over a dead centre position from the Fig. 1 to the Fig. 2 position moves a lever e so that the rubber cover on a<4> acts as a brake and the end a<3> is moved downwardly to contact the ground and act as a rest bar. A fixed rest bar or a similar brake and support arrangement may be provided on the other side of the chair.
