678,674. Gas turbine plant. SHELL REFINING & MARKETING CO., Ltd. April 5, 1951, No. 7893/51. Addition to 668,995. Class 110(iii) [Also in Group XIII] A gas turbine plant comprises a heating container 1 and a heat exchanger 2 communicating therewith by a throat 3, means for circulating refractory bodies through the container and exchanger, a compressor 15 supplying air to the exchanger and a turbine 14 fed from the exchanger and exhausting to a combustion chamber 9 which supplies hot gases for circulation through the refractory bodies in the container. The gases discharged from the container 1 may drive a second turbine. In this case additional fuel is burnt either in the combustion chamber 9 or in a second combustion chamber positioned between the contained 1 and the second turbine.
