Abstract

678,650. Pourers for petrol cans &c. FAIRLESS, S. J. May 21, 1951 [Feb. 20, 1951], No. 4086/51. Class 66. A cap 1 and pouring spout 2 for the outlet of a petrol can or oil drum &c. is secured by a bolt 8 passing loosely through a bridge-strip 11 spanning the under side of the can outlet. The spout is closed by a cover 3 on a chain. As shown, the cap is domed and has an integral base-ring 4 fitting the neck of the outlet and housing a resilient washer 6. The bridge-strip 11 has a series of holes interconnected by slots, a neck 8a, of reduced diameter enabling the bolt head, on which is a washer 9, to occupy a hole chosen according to the position of the outlet. A knob 13, screwed on and pinned at 14 facilitates handling the bolt 8, and a nut 12 tightens the bolt.
