Abstract
678,360. Magnetic-fluid couplings. BAILEY METERS & CONTROLS, Ltd. May 18, 1950 [May 20, 1949], No. 8413/52. Divided out of 678,327. Drawings to Specification. Class 80 (ii). In a slippable magnetic-fluid coupling wherein the annular gap between inner and outer coupling members, filled with an iron-oil mixture, is traversed by magnetic flux produced by a permanent magnet, the latter has keeper means which afford a flux path of higher reluctance than that through the mixture in the gap. The construction is identical with that shown in Fig. 5 of Specification 678,327, which is referred to. Specification 393,795, [Group XIX], also is referred to.
