Abstract

676,657. Thermal switches. PEERLESS & ERICSSON, Ltd. Feb. 8, 1951. [Jan. 10, 1950] No. 653/50. Class 38 (v). With rise of temperature the bimetallic cupped disc 19 snaps into its other position, the contacts 22 leaving the fixed contacts 17 and the adjacent parts of the disc engaging the shoulders 15 while the upper surface of the disc (now convex) presses upwards the plunger 25 which acts as an indicator. The disc retains its new shape on cooling and is reset by pressure on the plunger 25. The device may be mounted in an oven so as to be responsive to the temperature of the oven as well as to current flowing through the disc.
