Abstract

972,603. Thermal switches. BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO. Ltd. Feb. 18, 1963 [Feb. 22, 1962], No. 6935/62. Heading H2B. In a thermostatic switch comprising bellows 1 in a chamber of thermally-responsive material operating through an end plate 19 on a push-rod 3 which supports a moving bridging contact consisting of a member 6 with a metal disc 7, fixed contacts (four shown in Fig. 1) surround the disc 7 so that the disc bridges the contacts as the push-rod is moved. Screws 15, 16 engage spring blades 9, 10 of the fixed contacts to adjust the operating positions of the push-rod. The chamber is charged through a hole 17 which is sealed by a ball 18 and solder.
