Abstract

1,100,734. Thermal switches. ELMWOOD SENSORS Inc. 13 May, 1966, No. 21317/66. Heading H1N. A snap-acting bimetallic disc 28 acts through a pin 60 on a contact disc 52 which normally bridges fixed contacts 44, 50, Fig. 1. On heating disc 28 snaps over-centre (Fig. 2) so that pin 60 moves disc 52 out of engagement with contacts 44, 50. The switch is manually reset on depression of a push-button 64, a shoulder 75 thereon engaging contact disc 52 to restore the components to their original positions (Fig. 3). Push-button 64 is returned to its original position by a spring 80.
