Abstract

675,613. Mixing appliances; centrifugal machines. LAVERY & CO., Ltd., I. H. Feb. 2, 1951 [Feb. 4, 1950], No. 2937/50. Classes 23 and 86 A mixing chamber A is provided with a vaned rotor B which rotates within a perforated cylinder a carried by the lower end of a tube a<2> surrounding the rotor spindle b, the lower edge of the cylinder a being affixed to the base of a dished plate A<1> having a central aperture a<1>. The flared opening of an air nozzle D passes through the aperture a<4> and terminates adjacent the underside of the rotor B, the nozzle D being connected to an air supply pipe D<1> controlled by a valve D<3>. When the rotor is driven the mix circulates in the direction of the arrows and a partial vacuum is created near the centre of the rotor whereby air is drawn in through the nozzle D. The perforated cylinder a may be replaced by wire gauze.
