Abstract
The invention comprises the combination in equimolecular proportions of 5-phenyl-5-ethylbarbituric acid and an organic base of the general formula <FORM:0674807/IV (b)/1> wherein R1, R11, R111 stand for hydrogen o methyl. The compounds may be obtained by reacting the acid and base with or without solvent, e.g. alcohols, acetone, ethyl acetate, ether or chloroform, or by reaction in an organic solvent followed by precipitation by diluting with water or by reacting salts of acid and base. Examples describe the preparation of salts of 5-phenyl-5-ethyl-barbituric acid with (1) 1-phenyl-2-amino-propane; (2) 1-(31,41 - dimethyl - phenyl) - 2 - amino - propane (from the corresponding sodium salt and hydrobromide respectively); (3) 1-phenyl-2-methyl-amino-propane; (4) 1-(41-methyl-phenyl)-2-amino-propane.
