Abstract

674,514. Making circlips. WALDES KOHI-NOOR, Inc. Sept. 25, 1950, No. 23449/50. Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv). [Also in Group XXV] Circlips, that have a surface inclined to the plane of the ring so that the clip may exert an axial thrust, have the surface produced by bending instead of by grinding or otherwise removing metal. The clips are blanked from strip stock by dies, shown in diagram in Fig. 10, for producing a circlip for use in a housing, the bevelled edge 43 of the annular punch 42 effecting the bending. In producing a circlip for mounting on a shaft the punch has the inner edge bevelled.
