[Also in Group XXIII] A drill wagon for use in tunnelling rock and comprising a movable framework having a passage there-through for a loader or transport train has a working platform above ground level at one end, a portion of the platform extending across the passage being raisable out of the path of the loader. As shown, the drill wagon comprises a trestle framework having a passage and a working platform comprising fixed side portions 6 and a central portion 7 supported on beams 9 and raisable by two pairs of journalled links 8 operated by a compressed air cylinder 10, the piston 11 of which is connected to a sliding block 12 mounted on the framework. The platform 7 may be lowered below the level of the platform 6 which latter may also be enlarged sideways by auxiliary platforms 15. Specification 654,735 is referred to.
