758,656. Pushing jacks. BEUKENBERG, H., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK GLUCKAUF G. KLERNER]. July 27, 1953 [Sept. 26, 1952], No. 20785/53. Class 78 (3). A fluid pressure jack for adjusting a coal face conveyer has a reaction strut which is located between the conveyer and the adjacent end of the cylinder and is pivoted to a ground-engaging foot to which is also attached the said end of the cylinder. The ground-engaging foot 10 is pivoted at 9 to a cylinder head extending over a pair of cylinders 2, and at 6 to the strut 4. A spring 7 urges the strut into engagement with the mine roof and the strut may be hydraulically extensible. In a modification (not shown) the arrangement is incorporated in a single cylinder jack. In a further modification (not shown) the cylinder head is rigidly secured to a foot member and is pivoted directly to the strut.
