672,581. Piston valves. CHEREWICK, F. J. Aug. 29, 1950, No. 21291/50. Class 135. A three-way valve comprises a cylinder 2 with ports 3, 5, 6 all in a single plane perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder and a piston 10 with two transverse ported passages 11, 12 spaced both axially and angularly to each other, the piston being movable endwise to place the passage 11 in communication with the ports 3, 5 or the passage 12 in communication with the ports 3, 6. As applied to a flour distributing system for bakeries, different kinds of flour in bins A, B may be supplied selectively to bins L, M under the control of three-way valves Y30, Y31, as described above, operated by pneumatic cylinders 15 under the control of solenoids.
