Abstract
373,871. Compressed-air engines. MACMILLAN, C. H., 101, Strathcona Drive; Anniesland, Glasgow. Aug. 28, 1931, No. 24205. [Class 122 (ii).] Distributing valves.-In multiple cylinder, compressed air motors wherein the distribution is effected by a flat or coned disc, or by a cylindrical drum, provided with a port A adapted to register with ports 2 leading to the cylinder ends, a supplementary port 5 is provided to ensure starting from positions wherein the port A is out of register with the ports 2. The port 5 may be formed as a continuous extension of the mainport, or a plurality of supplementary ports may be formed as extensions of the ports 2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 6092/90, 16995/90, [both in Class 110, Rotary engines &c.], and 19866/03, [Class 122, Steam engines].
