Abstract

535,559. Steam turbines. ESCHER WYSS MASCHINENFABRIKEN AKT.-GES. April 22, 1940, No. 7222. Convention date, June 5, 1939. [Class 110 (iii)] The nozzle box is divided into four portions ; portions 7 and 9 receive steam through the first valve 4 and portions 10, 12 through the second and third valves 5, 6. Chambers 27, 21 receive steam through ports 19, 23 when the first valve 4 is opened so that both flanges 17, 18 are heated. Steam from the chambers 27, 21 may be led to additional nozzles.
