Abstract

396,866. Gas purifiers. BOTT, H., Richmond, Donnington Wood, Wellington, Shropshire, and NEWTON, CHAMBERS, & CO., Ltd., Thorncliffe Ironworks & Collieries, near Sheffield. April 12, 1932, No. 10396. [Class 55 (ii).] In control valves for gas purifiers comprising valve chambers 10, 11 on either side of the partition plate 6 dividing adjacent purifier boxes 5, 5<1>, and in direct communication with each box, the valve chambers are open to each other through ports 22, 30 and a common return box 16. The valve chambers are provided with valves 24, 32 which control respectively the gas inlet 12 and port 22 and the gas outlet 14 and port 30. Similar control valves are arranged at the other ends of the purifier boxes so that by suitable movements of the valves the gas can flow through a single purifier box, the box can be completely isolated from the mains or if all the valves are in their open positions, the gas can flow through the complete series of boxes.
