Abstract
429,196. Valves. DEWRANCE, SIR J., 165, Great Dover Street, Southwark, London. Nov. 30, 1933, No. 33524. [Class 135] A byepass valve permitting initial flow of fluid prior to the opening of a sliding gate valve and automatically and constantly equalizing the pressure between the hood and the inlet side, is of the parallel slide type and consists of members 6, 7 whose faces are at a less distance apart than their seatings so as to be freely movable between them. The hood 3<g> of the byepass valve is connected to the hood of the gate valve through a passage in the gland housing 3<h>. The members 6, 7 may be integral or screwed together as shown, and are carried loosely in an eye 9<a> at the lower end of the spindle 9. Specification 268,127, [Class 135], is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
