672,175. Wheel chairs. EVEREST, H. A., and JENNINGS, H. C. Aug. 4, 1950, No. 19605/50. Class 108(i) The framework of a collapsable wheelchair is provided with two pairs of stub axles 25 secured to the front and rear legs 10, 11 so that the driving wheels 24 may be mounted on the front or rear legs at will. Castor wheels 29 are also detachably engaged in the lower ends of legs 10 or 11. The stub axles 25 have threaded ends which engage threaded bushes secured in the legs 10, 11 and the castor wheels are retained in position by split expansion rings engaging grooves in the legs. To allow the chair to be collapsed the side frames (Fig. 3) are connected by X braces 15 and links 16 and the seat 14 and back 20 are of flexible material.
