Abstract

671,287. Transformers. SCARPA, G. Aug. 9, 1950 [Dec. 12, 1949], No. 19840/50. Class 38 (ii). A high-voltage transformer winding section is insulated by a winding of impregnated paper 4 and comprises a plurality of sub-sections 1 separated by spacers 3 forming channels 2 and having holes or grooves for the passage of coolant flowing through inlet and outlet conduits 5. These conduits, of which the top one carries the winding end connections, are positioned by the main insulation 4, and in a modification, not shown, are extended to promote a natural air flow.
