Abstract

671,089. Pallets for handling loads. ADDISON-SEMMES CORPORATION. March 21, 1950. [Nov. 2, 1949] No. 7055/50. Class 78 (iv). The pallet illustrated is formed of several units of paper board or the like formed separately for assembly later. The units include a platform 5 formed of double-walled corrugated paper board and three supporting units 6. The supporting units comprise rows of cylindrical posts 7 each formed by winding corrugated paper board with the corrugations parallel to the axes of the posts, three such posts being joined by connecting strips 8 of flat walled corrugated paper board to form each unit. The corrugations of the strips 8 preferably run lengthwise of the strips which are perpendicular to the corrugations of the platform 5. A further platform 5 may be added to form a reversible pallet and either the upper or the lower strips 8 may be omitted. The units are formed and connected by the use of an adhesive such as sodium silicate. Specification 638,033 is referred to.
