Abstract
669,883. Receivers. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. April 13, 1950 [April 21, 1949], No. 9153/50. Class 40 (iv). In a moving coil electro-acoustic transducer, the diaphragm 4 is completely surrounded by the magnetic circuit which is provided with holes 17 for the transmission of acoustic energy and the coil constitutes one of the windings of a transformer having an unbroken magnetic circuit which is common with the operational magnetic circuit of the transducer. In Fig. 1 the coil 5 comprises a single short-circuited turn into which currents are induced by a coil 16 wound around a common core 1. The operational air gap is between the common core 1 and an annular permanent magnet 15 which together with an insert 6 and the capsule wall 3 forms a damping chamber connecting with the space at the back of the diaphragm through holes 7 covered by silk cloth 9.
