Abstract

669,768. Firebacks. MARSHALL & CO. (LOXLEY), Ltd., T., and MASON, A. Jan. 31, 1950 [May 25, 1949], No. 12213/49. Class 126 A fireback comprises four pieces, one constituting the bottom of the back, another the top of the back and others constituting the side cheeks, so arranged that adjustment may be made to enable the fireback to fit grates of different sizes and shapes. The side cheeks 9 and lower part 8 of the back are vertically arranged in the fireplace, the upper part 7 of the back being placed on the lower part 8 of the back so that it is inclined forwardly and rests against the side cheeks 9. Angular adjustment of the top part 7 of the back and the side cheeks 9 may be made to enable the fireback to fit fireplaces of various shapes and sizes. A recess 12 is formed in the lower part 8 of the back to accommodate the back of a firebasket. The front surface of the back parts 7, 8 is provided with bevels 14a, 14.
