Abstract
668,671. Cooling cement clinker. MIAG VERTRIEBSGES. Feb. 13, 1950 [March 21, 1949], No. 3561/50. Class 51 (ii). Cement clinker from a rotary kiln 1 falls on to a roller grate 9 through which passes cooling air and which is disposed in a cooling chamber 2 divided into compartments 4 and 5 by a flapvalve 11, heated cooling air from compartment 4 being exhausted through a duct 12 by a fan 13 and used as primary air in a burner 3 and heated cooling air from compartment 5 being exhausted through a duct 14 by a fan 15 and supplied partly to the furnace as secondary air and partly to a slurry mill or raw material silo. Pressure air may be supplied below the grate by ducts 19 and hoppers 20 disposed below the roller grate in each compartment collect fines which fall through the grate and are discharged by rotary compartmented drums 21. The rollers 9 are regulably driven by chains engaging gear-wheels 10 and supplied with cooling water by a pipe 17, the water being utilized in the slurry mill or slurry silo.
