667,940. Lift trucks. AKTIEBOLAGET BYGG-OCH TRANSPORTEKONOMI. June 12, 1950. No. 14587/50. Class 78 (iii). A fork lift truck having a wheeled undercarriage 1 and a pair of lifting platforms 3 has a catch for locking these platforms in the raised position comprising a hooked lever 19, Fig. 4, which is pivoted to a member 4 joining the platforms and engages a catch 20 secured to the undercarriage ; a link 17 being loosely pivoted to the lever in such a manner that normally it hangs freely but when the lever 16 is lifted to disengage it from the catch 20 this link is automatically engaged with member 12, as shown in Fig. 4, and so prevents re-engagement of the catch. Subsequent lowering of the platforms allows the link to disengage the member 12 and, on further lifting, the link hangs freely and allows the hook to ride up member 21 and re-engage the catch 20. Lifting is effected by a U-shaped lever 10 carrying two bolts 8 which, when the handle is lowered into the full line position, engage and lift a pair of hooks 7 secured to the member 4 ; the rear ends of the platforms being guided by links 1a which pivot about the wheel axles 2a.
