Abstract
667,789. Pliers. WOLFSON, D., and SEIDEN, H. Aug. 15, 1949 [Aug. 24, 1948], No. 21211/49. Class 61 (ii). [Also in Group XX] Pliers adapted to hold a spring dip in expanded position comprise arms 16 and 17 integral with corresponding handles 21, 22 pivoted at 20 and enclosing a spring 23. In operation the handles are manually brought together against the action of the spring 3 thereby bringing notches 18, 19 together to allow them to be inserted into the spring clip. On releasing the handles the arms 16, 17 are turned apart by the spring 23 to open the spring clip and to hold it in the notches 18, 19. When the clip has been located in the position in which it is to be used the handles 21, 22 are once more compressed, the clip grips the member to which it is to be attached and is released from the notches 18, 19. The pliers are described for use in placing a clip upon the beak of a fowl (see Group XX).
