Abstract

1280935 Spool holding device MURATA KIKAI KK and DAIWA BOSEKI KK 6 Oct 1970 [11 Oct 1969] 47553/70 Heading D1J The spool holder A has a ring 2 of soft deformable material that is caused to expand automatically and grip the spool 23 internally. When the spool 23 is raised onto the holder part A when below it lifts the end of a lever 9 in a clockwise direction against the resilient force of a spring 10. This movement of the lever 9 disengages its claw end 8 from a latch pin 14 to permit upward movement of a central shaft 13, and therewith of a head body 3, under the influence of spring 17. The ring 2 is thus compressed between the main body 1 and the head body 3 to cause it to bulge outwardly. When it is desired to release the bobbin the upper end 16 of the central shaft 13 is manually depressed against the force of the spring 17 to cause the latch pin 14 to be moved downwardly beyond the claw 8 and so permit the claw 8 to hold the shaft 13 in its depressed setting. The resultant downward displacent of the head body 3 from the main body 1 releases the compression on the ring 2.
