Abstract

667,494. Electric transformers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 14, 1950 [March 26, 1949], No. 6392/50. Class 38 (ii). A clamp assembly for a three-phase transformer core 5 having three laminated legs interleaved at their ends with two laminated delta-shaped yokes comprises shaped plates 1, 11 positioned axially at the core ends, support arms 2 ... 4 and 15 (2 not shown), respectively extending radially from the plates 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, U-shaped members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> straddling the core at the point of interleaving, and rightangle members 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, relative movement of which with respect to the members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> by screws 8, 81 effects clamping action. The core is clamped axially by a rod 17 and nuts 18, 19, and insulation blocks 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, 14, 141 of, for example, wood, space and support the coils 11, the former blocks being positioned by wing-shaped members 9, 9<SP>1</SP> attached to the members 6, 6<SP>1</SP>.
