Abstract

667,423. Door frames. PERSSON, E. S. Nov. 22, 1949. [Dec. 1, 1948] No. 29922/49. 20(iii). The two sides, at least, of a metal door frame consist of an I-section profile 1, the flanges of which hold a profile 2 surrounding a door panel. The one leaf door shown includes also a U-shaped fitting profile 3 in which the profile 1 is inserted and secured by engaging strips 4 and 5, the profiles 1 and 3 being bent round at the two upper corners. The panel bead profile 2 has all four corners bent round and may be made in one piece or in two parts to contain, for example, a pane of glass. The profile 2 with the glass placed therein is inserted in the bent profiles 1 and 3 and supported, for example, by a panel 6 and a lower frame part 7 which is screwed &c. into position. Channels 9 in the profile 3 and in the fixed frame profile 8 are packed with rubber &c. The flanges of the profile 1 parallel to the glass are grooved so that they can be bent without damaging the surface. Other types of doors may have different shaped frames, thus doors with more than one leaf may have only one of the frame corners bent round in one piece with a bead profile rounded in two corners.
